Honoring all who served

At the eleventh hour, of the eleventh day, of the eleventh month…

Joined by members of VFW Post 1302, members of the Kearny Town Council, and Mayor Al Santos, as well as other distinguished Veterans and residents of Kearny, the members of Post 99 celebrated Veterans Day with a traditional wreath-laying at Veterans Memorial Park.

Members of Post 99 recited John McCrae’s “In Flanders Fields” and Veterans were remembered with a three volley salute, a somber rendition of Taps, and a wreath was placed by Kearny Council President Carol Jean Doyle and Hudson County Veterans Affairs Coordinator JoAnn Northgrave.

Speakers at the ceremony included VFW Post 1302 Commander Jennifer Long, Kearny Mayor Al Santos, and Post 99 member Karl Petry.
